As Sunday approaches and we all pretend to actually care about the Academy Awards, we at Rainestorm decided to highlight the film we feel most deserves to win Best Picture. No, not that Facebook movie. The one movie that managed to bridge the gap across all movie-going demographics without kow-towing to any one of them: Christopher Nolan’s best work to date, Inception.

My colleague, Mark, will start the series by highlighting the unique structure of Nolan’s storytelling. Later in the week, we will examine the way Inception inverts standard movie genres, giving them an identity of their own; how Nolan plays with time; the way visuals and symbolism propel the story; and the various analogies drawn to everything from psychology to pop culture.

So, come with us and re-explore Christopher Nolan’s world of Inception, and hopefully find new ways of experiencing it.
